The pinna piercing or helix piercing is done in the tissue fold running through the top of the ear. Generally, in this piercing, a small Ball Closure Ring is used. Micro jewelry, that is a labret or barbell having a gauge of around 16 ga to 18 ga (1 mm to 1.2 mm), can be utilized in this piercing. Usually the jewelry length is less than 5/16'' (8 mm).
