Foreskin piercing takes between 2 to 4 months to heal. The wearer may find this piercing to be very rousing when the jewelry rubs against the glans. Captive bead rings having a gauge of 10 to 12 and a length of 1/2 to 5/8 inches are considered ideal for initial use. With the foreskin retracted, the diameter of the ring should be at least 1/8 inches more than the width of the piercing. Rings having a very small diameter tend to contract the piercing, scar and migrate it.
